Pen and Watercolor Wash Drawing - One Day Workshop
November 14, 2026
10AM -2PM
Open to 16+ & Adults
Pen and watercolor wash is a classic technique that merges the spontaneity of watercolor with the precision and expressiveness of drawing. The technique is suited to a variety of styles, from the monochrome wash drawings of Renaissance masters to charming illustrations and funky urban sketches.
In this workshop, students will discuss materials and methods, explore different styles, and learn how to develop a photograph into a finished pen-and-wash drawing. After a discussion and demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to create their own wash drawings with instructor guidance, working from either their own or instructor-provided reference images.
This workshop is intended for students with an intermediate level of watercolor experience. Participants should bring their own watercolor paints and watercolor brushes. Pens and paper will be provided.
The workshop includes time for a lunch break. A bagged lunch is not necessary, but participants are welcome to bring one if they would like.
