Cyanotype Printmaking - One Day Workshop
Saturday, September 12, 2026
11:00AM – 2:00PM
Open to 13+
Cost $45
In this workshop, participants will create their own botanical cyanotype prints using sunlight and simple chemistry before exploring a variety of creative toning techniques. Through demonstrations and hands-on practice, students will experiment with natural staining agents such as tea, wine, and other tannin-rich materials to transform the classic blue cyanotype into a range of unique colors and effects. Along the way, they'll discover how different toning methods produce distinctive results, making each print one of a kind.
All materials required for the cyanotype and toning processes will be provided. Students are welcome to bring their own botanical materials, stencils, or other light-blocking objects to personalize their prints. This class is suitable for beginners since it will start with making basic cyanotypes for toning. By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with three hand-toned cyanotype prints and one on cloth.
*Please note: Once payment is received, workshop/1-day class fees are non-refundable
