In this workshop, we will focus on creating characters to star in your cartoons and comics.
A good character provides the foundation of your comic strip, comic book or graphic novel. The look and design of the character is vital and can inform the reader about your star’s history, current status, and personality.
Inventing a backstory for your character provides the rules by which he, she, or it operates in any situation.
Supporting characters for your main character help to round out the world in which it exists, and gives your main character the opportunity to reveal its personality and purpose. A great cast of characters leads naturally into the next stage of story creation, the plot! This 3-hour class is ideal for those ready to dive into better character development, or those with projects in progress that would like guidance and feedback from an experienced professional cartoonist.
