Elbow Basket Weaving - One Day Workshop

Join us for a beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn to create a traditional elbow basket inspired by Native basketry. Instructor Susan Marine will guide participants step-by-step through the weaving process, making this class approachable for beginners and a fun, satisfying one-day project for more experienced weavers.
 
Students will work with smoked reed, which can be woven in a variety of ways—ensuring that each basket is truly one of a kind. You’ll learn shaping, structure, and finishing techniques as you bring your basket to life.
 
If time allows, participants will have the opportunity to weave a custom handle; otherwise, rope will be provided to complete the basket. Embellishments will also be available for those who wish to add a unique and whimsical touch.
 
No experience is necessary, and all materials are included.
