Designed for the student with previous
drawing experience, and has been in Linda’s class before.
Students will learn advanced drawing techniques using various
dry mediums of their choice.
Tuition: $50.00 each 4 Week term (All supplies included)
Learn how to paint like Picasso, Van Gogh,
and Monet as we study the lives and painting styles created by
these artists. Students will be creating their own paintings
inspired by the unique styles created by each of these artists.
Students will
create drawings and paintings using inspiration from music,
dance, architecture, and poetry. Guest performers may visit the class to teach students
about different disciplines of art. Come ready to explore the
different worlds of art!

D - 4 Week Term
Supply Fee: $5.00
Using acrylic and watercolor paint, students
will choose their own subject matter to inspire their painting!
Student will learn basic color mixing skills, composition, and
painting techniques throughout the class.

This class will offer a variety of art
experiences focusing on the fine arts not crafts. Children will
be introduced to watercolor/tempera painting, mask making, paper
constructions, weaving and more !

sheet available if needed).
Come join us for an
interactive hands-on photography experience geared toward
children. Children will start with camera familiarization and
move into topics such as basic composition and lighting, image
storage, computer connection and obtaining prints.

POLICIES – PROCEDURES
2011-2012
1. MEMBERSHIP
All students of adult classes must be members of the Middletown
Arts Center. All children's classes (ages 4 - 18) do not pay for
membership unless they are enrolled in an adult class.Membership fees are $25 for Individual; $60 for Household;
$100 to $249 for Patron; $250 to $499 for Benefactor; $500 to
$999 Master’s Circle; $1000 or more Founder’s Circle. Memberships are valid for
one year from purchase and are non-refundable. They are a means
to support The Center and its activities.
2.REGISTRATION AND
PAYMENT
Registration is continuous and classes are filled in the order
in which they are received. Tuition and lab fees are listed with
each class. A $5 discount on stated prices will be given if a student
pays for the class at least one week prior to the first class.All students are encouraged to pre-register, as a class
may be cancelled if insufficient enrollment occurs.A 2 for 1
offer is available for adult classes provided at least one of
the students is a new member and pays their membership at the
time of enrollment.
A
$20 penalty will be imposed on returned checks.Visa/MC will be accepted. Registration can also be done
on our website for most classes using pay pal.

6.ADDITIONAL
CLASSES
If additional classes are taken after
registering for a partial term, $15.00 per additional class will
be charged, if guests come to a class with a current student,
$15.00 will be charged for each class and is limited to 2
classes per guest unless special arrangements have been made
with the Executive Director, no membership will be required.
If a student signs up for a class, that class is for the
full term and the student may not attend another instructor’s
class using the original sign up unless arrangements have been
made with the Executive Director.(i.e. signed up for painting class, attended painting
class for 9 out of 10 weeks and wants to use the 10th week in
stained glass to finish an old project).The student may attend the extra class by paying $15.00
for that class.
7.MISSED CLASSES
AND REFUNDS
Classes may be cancelled when there are insufficient students,
at which time enrollment fees will be returned or credited. If a
student signs up for a class they have paid for and finds that
they cannot attend the class, they will receive a 75% refund of
the class registration fee. If a student attends 2 or more
classes a credit
will be issued for 50% of registration fee. Makeup classes are
arranged if the Center cannot open or the Instructor is forced
to miss a session. It is the student's
responsibility to make up missed classes within the term. Missed classes may not be carried to the following term.
8.LOCKERS AND
STORAGE
Lockers will be $5.00 per term or $20.00 per year. Lockers not renewed will
be cleaned out the second week of the new term.Only current “works-in-progress” may be stored at MAC.Identify and date all work kept in bins; the Center
reserves the right to periodically clean out the bins of
unidentified or non-current work.
9.MODEL FEES
The cost of models will be divided among the students enrolled
in the class and will be collected the second class of the term.
10. YOUNG ARTIST
WORKSHOP-SUMMERTIME
The first child in a family must pay the full fee.A $5.00 reduction for each additional child in the same
family may be implemented.Membership is not required.Supplies are included.
11. STUDIO TIME
Open studios are available to student members and are designed to allow
artists the opportunity to work on their own in a creative
environment with the necessary equipment. Hours are determined
by class schedules. Exceptions are Jewelry Studio, Glass Classes
& Enameling due to the use of special kilns and equipment,
instructors must be present. Pottery Studio is available to
students that are self sustaining and do not need instructor
guidance. We ask all students that take advantage of the open studios
to clean up 30 minutes before closing time for that particular
day to allow the staff to make rounds to close the building.
12. STUDENT
RESPONSIBILITIES
Students are responsible to clean their work areas after their
designated class which includes wiping down art tables, and
easels removing paint, water and pastel dust, discarding any
papers etc. from your area. Leave your workspace the way you want to use it.
