ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Photographers (professional and amateur 18 years or older as of
1/1/2012 living within a 50-mile radius of Middletown, OH are
eligible to submit digital photographs or film photographs

ELECTRONIC
FORMAT GUIDELINES:
- JPEG format saved at level 10 compression
- Images must be no greater than 1600 pixels on the
longest dimension
- Images must be saved at 72dpi
- Maximum files size: 1MB
- Color Profile:
Adobe SRGB
- Submit actual image file, no links
FILE
NAMING:
Individual files should be titled with the Photographers first
initial, followed by last name, a sequential image number, followed
by title and sale price. Sale price will be used if your image is
selected by the judges for exhibition.
(example: jsmith_01_title_$150.jpg)
ENTRY FEE:
-$15 per entry - no limit to the number of entries

3 images per category will be eligible for
acceptance
in the exhibition per photographer
-Fee is payable via paypal.
-Your submission process is complete upon receipt
of entry fee.
-Entry fee is non-refundable
JUDGING
CRITERIA & JUDGES:
Jean Vance, Tom Hogeback, & Michael Davis.
Preliminary judging for exhibition will be done by the panel of
judges chosen (above) by the Exhibit Committee. The decisions of the
judges are final and binding.
A minimum of 8 and maximum of 15 images will be selected in
each category to be exhibited. Judges will then proceed to choose
the winners of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, &
honorable mention in each category once the chosen photos have been
delivered framed and ready to hang. A Best of Show will be chosen
from all selected exhibition entries. Photographers of the selected
images to be exhibited will be notified February 12, 2012 and they
must deliver their finished piece by
February 23, 2012, 8:00p.m.
RECEIVING AND CONDITIONS OF EXHIBITING
ENTRIES:

All entries must be personally delivered to
the Middletown Arts Center, 130 N. Verity Pkwy,
Middletown,
OH during the following times:
Monday, February 20
– 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday, February
21 – 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February
22– 10:00 a.m.– 8:00 p.m.
Thursday, February
23 – 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
-Final
prints must be framed (matting optional)
-Print size 16 x 22 maximum plus frame
-Canvas images are acceptable – maximum size
30x38.
-All images must arrive ready to hang with wire
(no saw tooth
hangers allowed)

EXHIBITION AND OPENING RECEPTION:
The Photography Exhibit will be open to the
public from March 2, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. through March 31, 2012 during
regular building hours.
Only works selected by the judges will
be exhibited.
The opening reception for the
exhibition and awards presentation will be held March 2nd
from
6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Center’s Exhibit Hall.
All participants are encouraged to
attend.
LIABILITY/AGREEMENT:
All reasonable care will be taken in handling
work submitted; however, neither the Middletown Arts Center; the
judges; nor the committee will be held responsible for loss or
damage to framed photographs.
All works are entered at the artist’s
risk, and the artist must provide his/her own insurance.
Submission of work to this exhibition shall be
understood to indicate an agreement on the part of the artist with
conditions set forth.
This includes the artist’s permission
to have photographs of their work used for publicity and for
promotion without compensation.

30% of sale price comes to the Middletown Arts Center.
